Glasscock County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,226.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/48/48173.html )〕 Its county seat is Garden City.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 The county was created in 1887 and later organized in 1893. It is named for George Washington Glasscock, an early settler of the Austin, Texas area.
Glasscock County is included in the Big Spring, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area.
==Geography==
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.1%) is water. The Spraberry Trend, the third-largest oil field in the United States by remaining reserves, underlies much of the county.〔(Top 100 Oil and Gas Fields )〕
